One Pan Beef & Cabbage Skillet

While scrolling through my Facebook feed I came across a recipe for a beef and cabbage skillet.   I like cabbage, but I’ve never had it with beef.  Based on all the great reviews for this I decided to give it a try and I’m definitely glad I did.   I made it tonight to take for my lunches for the rest of the week. It sounds strange, but it’s actually really good! It’s also cheap and healthy!   My husband (who doesn’t like vegetables at all tried and said “it’s not bad!” – which is high praise coming from him!

Some of the comments mentioned having it over rice, but I’ll probably just eat it by itself and save those extra carbs. It’s not very soupy; it’s more of a consistency of hamburger helper – just a lot healthier!


1 pound grass-fed ground beef
1 yellow onion, diced
1 small head green cabbage, chopped into strips
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5-oz) can organic diced tomatoes, including juice
10 oz spaghetti sauce from a glass jar (low sugar)
Sea salt and pepper, to taste
